Arunachal Pradesh is a state perched in the north eastern frontier of the India sub continent., It is a tourism hotspot in the country and is visited by many local and international tourists through out the year. In the year 2014, this state was the second most visited state after Kerala in India. The Indian government is trying to promote the state’s cultural heritage and tourism prospect for the better. the state suffered heavy losses during the 1960 Sino-Indian conflict.Also this state has received several setbacks in its pathway of development due to the tensions occurring across the Indo-China border.The capital city is Itanagar and is the main center of the state’s commercial and industrial activities.72% of the state’s GSDP comes from tourism.Renowned actor Arjun Rampal is the brand-ambassador of the state.

There are several places of interests in Arunachal Pradesh. Especially,Dirang,Tawang,Bomdilla etc are to name a few.
Dirang:This place is located in the northeastern part of the state.This place is famous for both its natural scenic beauty and historic importance.The Dirang Zhong or the Dirang Fort located at the heart of the town was constructed to protect the people of Dirang from any war or natural calamity in the year 1859.It was declared as a

UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1978.Also the Dirang monastery is a popular tourist attraction where the His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama visited earlier this month.

Tawang: Tawang is the most important tourist spot in Arunachal Pradesh.it is said that people visit Arunachal Pradesh to visit Tawang. Tawang is known for its historic importance because it is the storehouse of the Monpa culture. Also Tawang is referred as Monyul by the native people of Tawang. From Tawang a 14km drive through the
mountainous road it will take you to the “Y junction”.From this junction one road goes to the Bumla pass which contains the Indo-China border and the other road goes to the two lakes namely the Ptso lake and the Shingatsher lake popularly known as the Madhuri lake.

In the Shungatsher lake the shooting of a scene for the film “Koyla” took place.In that scene renowned Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit had danced.The lake was formed due to earthquakes.When one will visit the place one would be stunned to see gazing at the place’s scenic beauty all around.Another important place is Tawang is the Tawang monastery.Built across a land area of 70 acres it is the largest monastery in Asia.It has several quarters within itself ie one is meant for the museum, other is the center for laying the butter lamps,another center is the information centre for the lamas. On the road between Dirang to Tawang the Sela Pass is situated at an altitude of 13700ft it is the world’s second highest motorable road. This is an important place of interest for the tourist and chiefly maintained by the India army. Also people visit teh Sela lake which is located 2-3 kms from the Sela pass. From Tawang Bomdilla is not very far off. It is a market town and coparatively more urbanised than the other cities of Arunachal Pradesh. Bomdilla is divided into 3 prts upper, middle and lower Bomdiall. Each of the theree parts houses a monastery which is built in its own unique style. In uper Bomdilla, his holiness Dalai Lama the 14th had planted a sapling. Arunachal Pradesh is connected well with teh Tejpur airport in Assam. Also Bhalukpong junction located at a distance of 190 km from Itanagar is last railway station in the North eastern frontier of India.
