Travel Guide – Havelock Island

This island has an area of about 113.93 km. it is the largest of the islands that comprises Richie Archphalages –a chain of islands that lies to  the east of the great Andaman in the Andaman Islands. It is situated 57 km north  from the city Port Blair.  This group of island is named after a British General Henry Havelock, who served in India.

The access to Havelock is via the following ways:

  • Coastal cruise
  • Express Bhagya

The several activities (water sports) that one can experience are

  • Scuba diving
  • Banana ride

One can easily spot some dolphins in the Kalapatthar Beach (a famous tourist attraction)

The average temperature in Havelock is 38 degree Centigrade and real feel is 49 degree centigrade

One should carry his/her sun screen lotion to protect himself/herself against possible tan.

The population mainly consists of Bengalis and Bangladeshis who settled there after 1971.

The five villages in Havelock, which are Gobindanagar, Shyamnagar, Radhanagar, Krishnanagar and Vijaynagar have there similar to the villages in West Bengal.  The Radhanagar Beach (beach no.7) has awarded as the best beach  in Asia in 2014 by ‘time’.

Palindrome

A Palindrome is a word, phase or a sequence of character that reads the same when either spelt forward or backward. Example of palindrome are “A man, a plan, a card Panama”, “race car”, “taco cat”, “was it a car or a cat I saw” and “No X in Nixon”.

Comparing literature in Palindrome are example of constrained writing. This word has caused by the English play writer Ben Johnson. In the 17th century. This words originates fro Greek roots. Palin (again) and dromos (away, direction)

In several literature pieces across the globe there are several example or instances of palindrome like those in Urdu, Bengali, English, Sanskrit, Tamil literature palindrome have been used quite often.

Other examples of palindrome includes “madam I’m adam”. Even the very name of an Indian language Malayalam is itself a palindrome.

The palindromes would appear interesting to the children and they can easily identify and its nature.

MaggiWe have been eating Maggi since we were small. But now doctor’s have found lead in it. Lead causes cancer and cancer can kill people.doctor’s are saying not to eat Maggi. It would be difficult for many kids, not to eat Maggi. Ihave eaten Maggi at Gulmarg, where nothing else was available. Doctor’s also say some people are eating Maggi because they are addicted to it.
